Open Vacancy:
The Refugee Council of Turkey, a network of more than 20 refugee-led and national civil society organizations founded in 2016, is looking for a Communication Consultant to provide support to the development of its communications strategy.
This assignment is expected to be carried out over 2 months as 20 days (8 hrs per day)with the possibility of extension as online (home-based).
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least five years’ experience of working with civil society organizations (CSO), preferably with a network of CSOs, on strategic communications work.
- Prior experience in developing and implementing communications strategies and plans in a consultative and participatory manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Degree in communications, marketing, advertising, or other related fields (desirable).
- Experience of working on issues relating to displacement in Turkey (desirable).
- Understanding of the civil society landscape in Turkey (desirable).
- Fluency in Turkish and English (essential) and Arabic (desirable).
Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant is expected to lead the development of the RCT’s Communications Strategy for 2021-2023 and to develop an annual communications plan based on this strategy for 2021-22 by working closely with the RCT Communications Committee, member organizations, and secretariat in order to:
- Formulate objectives that will guide the internal and external communications of the network that reflect the members’ shared vision and joint sense of purpose.
- Develop a clear and concise communications strategy for 2021-2023, which details:
- Objectives for both internal and external communication.
- Proposed communications channels and/or tactics to be used to achieve these objectives, broken down per objective.
- Proposed target groups per objective.
- A rationale for the selection of these targets and tactics.
