Syrians have established 15 thousand 159 firms in Turkey

According to Hürriyet News, in Turkey, which harbours 3.649.750 Syrians, there exist 15 thousand 159 companies which Syrians whether to be joint or the proprietor, in respect to the recent data extracted by the Ministry of Commerce. These companies employ 44 thousand Syrians.
The Economic Policy Research Foundation of Turkey (TEPAV) has published a report based on this data. As this report demonstrates, the average number of employees in these companies are 7.3 people, and roughly 250 thousand Syrians are earning their lives thanks to these firms, considering a typical Syrian family consists of six members. This evidence thus exerts that Syrians in Turkey benefit from the companies where Syrians are proprietors or associators in case of employment.

According to America’s Voice and Euronews, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan put remarks that ‘’We would be obliged to open the doors in case of no formation of the secure zone in Syria. It would be more appropriate to realise this with our U.S. allies. European Union could not fulfil the assistance that it had premised.’’
In these words, European Commission Spokesperson Natacha Bertaud has made a statement. More than 100 thousand Syrians are departing from Istanbul

According to Deutsche Welle, Deputy Interior Minister İsmail Çataklı stated that ‘’Unregistered 4 thousand 606 Syrians has been sent from Istanbul to the camps up to this point. 9 thousand families, corresponding to approximately 35 thousand people in Istanbul and registered in other provinces, went to the provinces where they were registered.”

According to DHA, the Ministry of Interior Süleyman Soylu has attended the ‘’Irregular Migration and Evaluation Meeting’’ organized by the Governorship of Bursa.
Soylu stated that ‘’The country which generates the densest contact with the most substantial global problem of the twenty-first century is our country by all odds. By the year 2017, the number of international migrants is 258 million in the whole world. At the end of 2018, the number of forcibly displaced people worldwide is 70 million 800 thousand, and this number has reached this level with a %63 rise in the last nine years. 29,4 million people among these forcibly displaced people are the people who are transited between multiple countries. Considering that 3,6 million Syrians in Turkey are involved in this number, it is much lucid in which position we are standing in this global issue.’’

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Grandi is in Ankara…

According to CNN Turk and DHA, Vice President of Turkey Fuat Oktay and Secretary of the Interior, Süleyman Soylu has accepted the committee composing United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and the concomitant agents.
In the dialogue with Oktay, notably the Syrians whose numbers exceed 3,6 million in Turkey, migration, refugee, and asylum-seeker topics were tackled. According to Canal B, the ‘’There is Hope in the Kitchen’’ project will be implemented in reality with the support of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), setting off from the vantage point of bringing the Syrian migrants and disadvantaged groups in six provinces of Turkey to the life. Bağlıca Campus of Başkent University hosted the publicity and protocol signing ceremony of the project.
With this project, which will both ensure the integration of migrants and provide the broadest self-development opportunities in the business field, there will be gastronomy education to the groups in six provinces of Turkey: Ankara, İstanbul, İzmir, Mardin, Mersin, and Şanlıurfa.

Refugees are unable to access food and water

According to Birgün, Medical Specialist Zeynep Altın, who is working on Internal Diseases Clinic, University of Health Sciences İzmir Tepecik Education and Research Hospital, indicated that one of the primary hurdles of refugees is the ‘’alimentation’’. Turkish Medical Association’s (TTB) Society and Physician (Toplum ve Hekim) Journal have dedicated its latest issue to the field articles titled ‘’Nutrition and Health’’. Altın shared the details of the field studies which was compiled by the collaboration with People’s Bridge Association (Halkların Köprüsü Derneği) and covered 150 thousand refugees, told that ‘’There is no guarantee for any refugee to access an adequate amount of aliment in the day afterward. The migrant children are unable to enroll on schools in Istanbul

‘’We Want to Live Together’’ Initiative conveyed to United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education the allegations relating to that the children of migrants living in Istanbul were not enrolled in schools, and it made an intervention call for the urgent solution of this issue. According to TRT, BM announced that over 32 thousand irregular migrants had lost their lives in the last five years. Including the baby Aylan, whose corpse washed up onshore of Bodrum, one thousand 654 irregular migrants are constituting the infants.

The announcement by the EU and UN on repatriating Syrians

According to Deutsche Welle, over the disputations pertaining to that, Turkey will repatriate numerous Syrians with the justification of committing to crime or being unregistered, European Union (EU) and United Nations (UN) made a statement that refugees can be sent back only in exceptional conditions.
Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, formed the unanimity on the conclusion that Syrian refugees can be repatriated in exceptional cases. In the statement released in Brussel, it is indicated that Mogherini and Grandi have determined the conditions to be considered as ‘’exception’’ on a phone call made on Monday.

Turkish sailors rescued 24 refugees

According to TimeTurk, a Turkish ship has rescued 24 African refugees stranded in a boat in the offshores of the Canary Islands located southwest region of Spain.
The crewmen of a Turkish ship called Ekmen Trans had realised a boat carrying the refugees in the offshores of Canary Islands. The crewmen took to onboard 24 refugees; among them were three children and one impregnate, being in the boat, which was 60 miles from the Canary Islands.

Greece is tightening the measures against asylum-seekers.

According to T24, after a hundred asylum-seekers has crossed over Greece from Turkey in the last weeks, Atina decided to augment the border checks and carry the asylum-seekers living in islands to the mainland.
Greece’s Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs has called a meeting on short notice since over five hundred asylum-seekers landed on Lesbos Island on Thursday (29.08.2019). Committee announced that it would reinforce the border checks with cooperating Frontex, EU’s border security agency, and NATO. Additionally, it was stated that the police will tighten the controls on ascertaining the asylum-seekers who were denied in right of sanctuary but still have not departed the country.

Sweden is putting down the automatic asylum practice

According to Hürriyet News, Sweden has executed new arrangements on the migration act granting an automatic right of sanctuary to the Syrian asylum-seekers. As the statement made by the Sweden Migration Agency displays, Sweden will not accord the right of cover automatically to the new Syrian asylum-seekers due to the alleviated intensity of the Syrian civil war.
With the new amendment on the migration law, Syrian asylum-seekers applying for asylum in Sweden will be asked from which part of Syria they came. Syrians who departed from Aleppo, Raqqa, Idlib, Homs, Hama, and Deir Ez-Zor cities will still be eligible for benefits from the automatic asylum practice.
