According to UNHCR Regional Refugee and Resilience Plan in Response to the Syria Crisis 2020-2021 in Turkey Country Chapter, 42 percent of people who live in temporary or international protection status in Turkey are under the poverty line while 85 percent of these individuals are Syrians under temporary protection.
The 'Needs' section of the report addresses the problems in every area Syrians face from health to education, job opportunities and social security.
According to this;
- Combined with negative social norms, traditional practices, and livelihoods, it creates an ongoing risk situation
- Many families see child marriages as the only way to secure the future for them and their children
- 71 percent of households cannot access qualified or reliable jobs
- Children work in dangerous conditions
